Donations and Support

I like to quip that I am essentially a machine that turns caffeine and gummy sweets into policies. However, until we overthrow Capitalism these things cost money.

The vast majority of my political work is undertaken through my role as Head of Policy & Research at Common Weal, for which I am modestly salaried. If you would like to support that work then the best way to do it is to support Common Weal either via a one-time donation or by signing up as a regular supporter (regular support of an average of £10/month is what allows Common Weal to pay me and my colleagues without beholding ourselves to grant funding bodies or corporate/political sponsors).

You can donate to Common Weal here.

I earn a minority of my income via freelance political consultancy and training. If you have a project that needs a data miner or a number cruncher or would like some advice around underpinning your campaign with robust policy, give me a shout and we can chat.

I also derive a small amount of income from freelance writing such as newspaper articles and speaker fees. All articles posted to this blog (at least those posted since 2023) indicate whether they were first written as a Common Weal post, as a freelance article or as a personal article outwith either paid source.

However, this blog maintained at my own expense and the political work I do outwith Common Weal and that freelance work is often unpaid. You may see adverts on this website but this is because the site is on WordPress’s ad-supported tier plan – I derive no income from those adverts and have no control over what is advertised here (I can’t even see them myself due to my adblock browser extensions).

If you would like to support this blog and myself directly, then you can do so by throwing me a tip via Ko-Fi at the link below. Any support is most gratefully received.

You can support this blog and me personally via Ko-Fi here.

Thank you, and please continue reading and sharing my work!
